Prepare Your Student
A student's attendance record is an integral part of a student's overall grade. Students with regular attendance benefit from in-class learning experiences and generally will be more successful in their classes. Students are expected to be present and punctual for all classes throughout the year.
When a student is absent, it is the responsibility of the parents or student (if he/she is 18 years of age) to call the school on the day of the absence. At the high school level, if the attendance office is not contacted within 24 hours to verify the absence, it is counted as unverified which places credit for course in potential jeopardy. An automated call will be placed to the student's primary residence for unverified absences.
Students who attend Maize schools have the opportunity to be transported to and from school by bus. Pick up and delivery locations for students being transported by school vehicle will be determined at the beginning of the school year. Only one pick-up and drop-off location will be allowed at residential addresses or day care provider addresses within school district boundaries. A change of locations during the school year will be approved for the following reasons:
If you need to change your student’s transportation arrangements during the school year, you must change your information in the Transportation form in Skyward Family Access. You can access the Transportation form by logging in to Skyward Family Access, click on Online Forms and choose Transportation form in the left navigation bar. The transportation department will respond to the change request within three school days.
After completing the Transportation form, you should receive an email with login information to Tyler’s Versatran’s e-Link with login information the next day. To access e-Link, log in to Skyward Family Access and click on District Links in the upper right-hand corner. Choose Busing Info where you will be prompted to log in to e-Link with the credentials you received in an email. After logging into e-Link you will be able to view your student’s busing information.
Breakfast and hot lunch programs are offered in all buildings. Nutritional guidelines set by the state are followed for all meal preparation.
Parents may add money to their child's lunch account either by sending a check or cash to the school with the child or by logging into Skyward Family/Student Access. In Family Access, you can view your child's lunch balance, add money to your child's account with your debit/credit card and also view what your child purchased for breakfast or lunch.
Parents may apply to qualify for free or reduced lunches for your children, if needed. To inquire about the Food Service program or about free/reduced lunch application, call 722-0900.Free/Reduced lunch application
